Hughes & Sons Gas has been in business since 2023, built on more than eight years of plumbing experience. We are a full plumbing service outfit based in East Tennessee, working across Jefferson, Hamblen, Sevier and Knox counties.

We do full plumbing on new construction, existing homes and remodels, and we specialize in natural gas and propane line installation. We install all gas equipment and we offer all gas service — so when a job needs both a plumber and a gas line, you only need to call one company.

Do you work with natural gas and propane?
Yes, both. We install natural gas and propane lines on existing homes and new construction, and we hook up the appliances that run on them.
I smell gas. What should I do?
Leave the house right away and do not flip switches or use anything that could spark. From outside, call your gas company or 911. Once it is safe, call us at (423) 277-9963 for the repair.
Can you install a tankless water heater in place of my tank?
Yes. The old tank comes out, the tankless unit goes on the wall, and we handle the gas line, water connections and venting ourselves.
Can you run a gas line for a new appliance or a generator?
Yes. Ranges, cooktops, standby generators, fireplaces, pool heaters and outdoor grills — we install all gas equipment and can bring a line to it if it needs one.
Several drains are backing up at once. Is that a sewer line problem?
It often is. When more than one drain backs up at the same time, the problem is usually the line that carries everything out of the house, not a single fixture. Call us and we will come find it.
I think I have a water leak. What should I do?
If water is coming through, shut off the main water valve first. Then call us at (423) 277-9963 and we will come find and repair the leak.
Do you do plumbing on new construction?
Yes. We are a full plumbing outfit and do new construction from rough-in to finish, plus the gas piping, so builders have one less trade to schedule.
What areas do you cover?
Jefferson, Hamblen, Sevier and Knox counties — Jefferson City, Morristown, Knoxville, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and the towns in between — and up to about 50 miles out. If you are not sure, call and ask.
